About me: Hello! I am a junior at the College Preparatory School in Oakland, CA, and a co-founder of EMOO. I have math experience up to AP BC Calculus and AP Statistics but I enjoy helping all levels of math! I love math but understand the challenges many students face, and I want to help you love math as much as I do! I am available at select hours after school and on some weekends.

Emiya

Name: Emiya

About me: Hey everyone! I’m a junior at the College Preparatory School and a cofounder of EMOO. I’ve loved math for as long as I can remember, and I love helping others with math even more. I’ll do my best to help you arrive at the correct answer yourself; I’ll simply be there guiding you in the right direction. Also, I value learning multiple approaches to every problem, so if one method doesn’t click with you, we can always take a different approach. Feel free to schedule a meeting with me over the weekend if there are math problems or concepts you want to work on – I’m always happy to help!

Tiago

Name: Tiago

About me: Hello! I'm Tiago, a Junior in high school. I enjoy and have helped people with all types of math problems. I'll work with you through thought-provoking logic problems, tedious algebra problems, complex geometry problems, and interesting pre-calculus problems as well! Math notation and reasoning can get extremely convoluted and confusing, especially as you move into higher-degree math, so I hope to approach and explain problems in a more "normal" way that hopefully makes sense. Overall, I hope that I can help you have fun and understand math at the same time! :)

Jack

Name: Jack

About me: Hi! My name is Jack, and I'm obsessed with music, physics, and ancient history. But most of all I love math! I'm comfortable tutoring any range of math from algebra to calculus, and I love answering questions about WHY math works the way it does. I've always helped my brother and my friends with their math work, and I'm excited to help others become confident mathematicians and get past points where they're stuck!

Eric

Name: Eric

About me: Hi! I'm Eric, and I've found that math can sometimes get pretty frustrating, especially when the explanation behind concept or theorem just doesn't make sense. However, I find that problems become much easier, and also more fun, when you understand the logic behind each concept. I hope to help you form a more intuitive understanding behind how math works; plugging in formulas is definitely annoying and difficult to apply, but I like to emphasize the reason why different theorems and concepts are actually true in order make problem-solving itself easier.

I’m a current calculus student, and whether you want to brush up on some long division and prealgebra or chat about the Lagrange error bound of a Taylor polynomial, I’ll always try to my best to make every little thing fun and clear!
